The Future of Vocational Education

Under the motto “Connect – Discover – Celebrate”, representatives from politics, business, development cooperation and vocational education systems came together to exchange experiences, explore practical tools and develop new perspectives for the future of vocational education and training.

Exchange and Networking

The Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) was represented at the conference by Miriam Speh, LED Programme Officer, and Nadejda Burciu, LED Country Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova. They took the opportunity to connect with experts and partner organisations from across the region and beyond.
The Moldovan delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the NGO AED.

Four Countries – One Vision

The LED has been an active member of the DC dVET for many years, alongside the development agencies ADA (Austria), BMZ (Germany) and SDC (Switzerland). Together, they promote the dissemination and advancement of dual vocational education and training (VET) in partner countries.

The shared goal is to offer young people practice-oriented training opportunities that improve their prospects in the labour market while ensuring that businesses have access to well-qualified professionals.

A Key to Sustainable Development

For the LED, dual vocational education is a core element of its strategy for promoting sustainable development. VET creates perspectives, strengthens local economies and contributes to poverty reduction. The LED emphasises partnership and practical relevance, working closely with educational institutions, businesses and governments.

The anniversary conference offered an opportunity to look back on ten years of successful collaboration within DC dVET and its partner countries.

“For me, the conference was an inspiring encounter with impressive, committed people – full of expertise, openness and humour. It was a valuable opportunity to connect and think ahead together,” summarised Miriam Speh.
