Mission Possible: Digital education that inspires
Digital education is not a topic for the future – it is the present. And in four “New Generation Schools” in Cambodia, a new programme shows how it’s done: hands-on, participatory, and impactful.
The Digital Visualization Technology Skills Accelerator Program (DViTSA) brings 3D modelling, animation, and game design into the classroom – with specially trained teachers, well-equipped labs, and learning methods that foster teamwork and creativity.
“Education is key – but only if it connects with the reality of children’s lives. That’s why we support programmes like this one: They promote future-oriented skills, boost young people’s confidence, and build bridges – between urban and rural areas, between girls and boys, and between learning and life,” says Pius Frick, LED’s Country Coordinator in Cambodia.
What makes this project special:
- Digital skills for students already at the secondary school level
- Outreach to rural areas
- Use of open-source software: sustainable, cost-effective, and accessible
The project was officially launched at the end of June 2025 in Phnom Penh – with strong participation from the Ministry of Education, teachers, project partners, and students. The enthusiasm was palpable. And the commitment to expand the programme is strong.
The project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), and KAPE (Kampuchean Action for Primary Education).
