Lecture and panel discussion: «WASH yourself if you can!»
On Saturday, 25 July at 5 p.m., the State Government of Vorarlberg and the Austrian Red Cross invited to an event entitled «WASH* in development cooperation and humanitarian aid» as part of this year's Poolbar Festival in Feldkirch.
The keynote speech by Alexander Öze of the Red Cross led to the subsequent exciting panel discussion: The 4 panelists from the fields of development cooperation and humanitarian aid examined the topics of water, hygiene and sanitation from different perspectives. During the discussion, special emphasis was repeatedly placed on the need to develop and implement WASH measures in close cooperation with the target groups and to adapt them to the respective local needs. Another central topic of discussion was the current Covid-19 situation in the regions of the world where the discussion participants come from or where they are active with various projects.
*WASH stands for water, sanitation and hygiene in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
