Annual report 2024

The Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) looks back on a successful year 2024.

With more than 14.6 million Swiss francs, 55 projects were supported across eleven focus countries – ranging from dual vocational education and training to agroecological farming. The new annual report highlights the tangible impact of Liechtenstein’s development cooperation: contributing to poverty reduction and creating lasting perspectives.

“Our work is a sign of solidarity and commitment to a fairer world,” says Peter Beck, President of the LED Foundation Board.

The report places particular emphasis on strengthening the resilience of smallholder farming families in sub-Saharan Africa and expanding vocational training in countries such as Moldova and Cambodia. Projects such as agricultural training centres in Senegal or adult education for Indigenous communities in Bolivia clearly demonstrate: development cooperation means generating long-term impact.

A key milestone in 2024 was also the increased visibility of the LED’s work. With a new communication strategy and targeted outreach – from media coverage to events in schools – Liechtenstein’s role in international development cooperation has gained greater public recognition.

“The LED stands for quality, partnership at eye level, and sustainable development,” says Managing Director Andreas Sicks. “Every franc invested creates opportunities for people who would otherwise have little or no access to education, income or food.”
